How Much Does Daycare Cost in San Francisco?
San Francisco has some of the highest childcare costs in the United States. According to the Children's Council of San Francisco, families can expect to pay:
Amores Daycare's tuition falls within the SF market range for licensed play-based learning centers. Importantly, we accept San Francisco childcare subsidies (Early Learning for All, APP, CalWORKs) and employer benefits — which can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Additional fees: One-time enrollment fee of $300 (non-refundable). First and last month's tuition required upon enrollment. No registration or application fee for tours.
Tuition is billed on the 1st of each month via Brightwheel. Accepted: ACH, credit/debit card.
Amores Accepts Subsidies & Employer Benefits
San Francisco offers meaningful financial assistance for qualifying families. We're fully enrolled with all major programs.
🏙️ Early Learning for All Scholarship
Mayor Lurie's expanded 2026 program provides free or subsidized care at approved providers for SF children 0–5. Amores is an approved site. Learn more at Children's Council SF →
📋 Alternative Payment Program (APP)
California's APP covers eligible working families regardless of income bracket. Contact Children's Council of SF to check eligibility and apply.
💼 Dependent Care FSA
Use pre-tax dollars from your employer's FSA to pay for childcare — up to $5,000/year per household. Amores can provide all documentation needed.
🏢 Employer-Sponsored Benefits
Many SF employers (Salesforce, Google, Stripe) offer childcare stipends or partnerships. We work directly with HR departments to facilitate these benefits.
🌟 CalWORKs Child Care
Stage 1, 2, and 3 CalWORKs child care funding accepted. Contact your county social services office to determine eligibility.
📊 Child & Dependent Care Tax Credit
Families may claim up to $3,000/child (or $6,000 for 2+ children) on federal taxes. We provide year-end statements for your tax preparer.

From First Visit to First Day
We've made enrollment as simple as possible. Here's what to expect.

Visit & Ask Questions
Walk through the classrooms, meet the teachers, and get answers to everything on your mind.
Submit an Application
Complete our short application ($0 fee). We'll confirm your child's spot or waitlist position within 48 hours.
Receive an Offer
When a spot opens, you'll receive a formal offer via email with 5 business days to accept.
Enrollment & Orientation
Sign enrollment agreement, pay first/last month, and attend a 1-hour parent orientation.
Transition Period
Amores uses a gentle 2-week transition plan — shorter sessions first, building up to full days at your child's pace.
